Essential Responsibilities

- Provides subject matter direction, expert consulting and problem-solving to cross-functional teams responsible for systems and business requirements and operational process development supporting sale and administration of products in regulated markets

-Provides expert advice and consulting in development of product and marketing strategies related to competing in regulated markets.

-Analyze, develop and present quantitative and strategic analytics to model the impact of environmental changes, regulatory impacts and strategic choices. Recommends and formulates company positions on enacted and proposed rules, legislative issues, emerging bills, and industry activity in support of the company's strategies.

-Represents the company on various industry workgroups and government affairs committees of trade groups. Reviews and advises on external communications.

-Leads the regulatory project team supporting achievement of product, marketing, and operational compliance with federal and state laws and regulation.

-Provides consultative and subject matter direction and training to other regulatory staff and management for achievement of certifications and product/rate approvals in regulated markets.

-Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization including senior level management and project/implementation team leads as well as individual contributors whose day-to-day functions are impacted by law and regulation.

-Other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or 6 years' related regulatory experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
  • Generally possesses 6 or more years of relevant, progressive experience

Preferred Qualifications

  •          Graduate degree (MBA, JD, MSIA)
  •          Advanced degree in business, law, healthcare administration or public administration.
  •          3- 5years' experience in a position requiring project management, independent judgment and initiative, preferably in a managed care setting and/or regulatory/compliance environment.
  •          Specialized knowledge of Medicare Advantage and Medicaid program requirements and experience with the design, implementation and maintenance of a Medicare and/or Medicaid Compliance Program.
  •          Resourceful, detail oriented and able to assimilate and analyze a wide variety of information, often working under deadline pressure with several levels of staff across the organization.
  •          Ability to apply discretion and anticipate regulatory requirements on business units and advise on risk mitigation strategies that integrate regulatory requirements with business needs.
  •          Strong organizational, interpersonal and writing skills
