JOB SUMMARY

This job reports directly to the Director of Client Strategy and Support. The incumbent manages processes for client facing activities as it relates to delivering the clinical value of our programs, services  and benefits.  Responsible for oversight and participation with presentations of the Organization's Pharmacy Services at client meetings and participates in finalist presentations. Supports building relationships with external brokers and consultants to enhance the likelihood that the Organization's prescription drug program will be offered to their clients.  Works collaboratively with Pharmacy Sales Support manager and team for RFP (Request for Proposal) and RFI (Request for Information) process as well as Annual Review or repricing material development.  Develops and conducts various training and educational sessions for the Organization's sales divisions, external brokers, and consultants regarding the Organization's pharmacy program and relevant industry trends.  Oversees development of client-specific pharmacy benefit analysis with presentations to clients including relevant education and recommendations.  Ensures successful implementations of clients with appropriate internal staff and vendors.  Collaborates with internal staff, vendors, clients, and other business segments for successful representation of the Organization's pharmacy program. The incumbent supports the development and implementation oversight for pharmacy product  and strategy to bring innovation and solutions to the commercial markets.  Leadership and motivational skills required for direct reporting structure of pharmacists and sales enablement analysts.  The incumbent inspires, encourages, motivates, and leads employees through coaching, to reach their fullest potential and to achieve established goals.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute presentations and training for external clients and internal staff.  Deliver key findings and recommendations to clients to ensure client/consultant/internal staff knows that pharmacist is their advisor and pharmacy expert.  Develop and maintain relationships with internal Highmark staff, clients, brokers, consultants for promotion of the Organization's pharmacy.
  • Support and manage staff to identify client growth opportunities, develop  pharmacy product initiatives to support client  growth goals  and reduce care costs  for Commercial  market segments. 
  • Ensure current and prospective clients are receiving appropriate levels of support and education from staff.  Conduct oversight of RxSales mailbox  by assigning pharmacists to ensure appropriate monitoring  and documentation of requests/issues coming in to populate a triage dashboard. 
  • Manage the process of client intent for Pharmacy benefit implementations for new business as well as existing business benefit changes that require coding and process oversight.   
  • Facilitate and manage input in conjunction with Sales and Pharmacy Sales Support and other Stakeholders as needed for RFP (request for proposal) and RFI (request for information) and repricing situations for existing Organization pharmacy clients.
  • Manage staff in day to day duties which include: delegation of assignments, providing guidance and professional development, coaching and mentoring support, development and monitoring of employee performance on a regular basis to facilitate the attainment of departmental goals.  Promote a culture of performance excellence departmentally by: directing and implementing quality process improvement and tools training/certification; encouraging staff members to build and maintain effective relationships throughout organization to advance a culture of performance excellence.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 - 5 years in the Healthcare Industry
  • 3 - 5 years in Communications
  • 3 - 5 years in Management
  • 3 - 5 years in Pharmacy
  • 1 - 3 years in People Management

Preferred

  • 1 - 3 years in Account Support
  • 1 - 3 years in Consulting
  • 1 - 3 years in Managed Care Support
