The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute Division of Radiation Oncology based at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is actively expanding our academic and clinical network. We are looking for patient focused Radiation Oncologists with a minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience to help staff our growing network in Western Pennsylvania. In the next 12 to 18 months we will be hiring 5 physicians to work primarily in clinical practice as part of our large integrated network. We are seeking Radiation Oncologists to serve in medical director, staff, and coverage roles. Opportunities for collaborative research and protocol enrollment are available through an integrated clinical and research network.
The Department offers a full range of treatment modalities including 3DCRT, IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, TBI/TSE, Permanent LDR, and HDR brachytherapy. We have a long and established track record of providing high quality Radiation Oncology services to our patients through 14 hospital based and freestanding facilities in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Over the next 2 years we will be expanding with a new academic cancer center and 4 new satellite facilities. The academic cancer center at AGH will be equipped with a GammaPod, a GammaKnife Icon, an MR-Linac, and Elekta Versa HD linacs.
We currently employ 14 physicists and 16 physicians. We have a Radiation Oncology residency. Over the next 2 years we will be in the process of hiring 5 physicians, 4 physicists, 2 post-doctoral researchers, as well as 2 physics residents.
We are academically affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, Drexel University College of Medicine, and Temple University School of Medicine, and have appointments at these institutions.
Faculty appointment will be available at Drexel University. Research collaborations with Johns Hopkins Cancer Center and Carnegie Mellon University biomedical engineering department have been established.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated clinical skills, have a proven record of teamwork, collaboration, and good interactive skills, and a caring personality.
