Job Summary

The VP, Enterprise Clinical Operations will be a key member of the CMO/Clinical Transformation Office. This role supports Highmark Health’s executive leadership in transforming industry-leading strategies into reality. Specifically, VP, Enterprise Clinical Operations will sit at the confluence of the provider-payer integration and be accountable for developing and executing the integrated approach to clinical strategic initiatives including physician alignment, provider system clinical partnerships including CINs and ACOs, social determinants of heath initiatives, and Quality, Safety, & Value Committee coordination. This VP also will be tasked with leading and managing strategic projects to support the development of the office itself, work of other verticals within the Clinical Transformation Office, and/or support additional enterprise clinical projects that are sanctioned by the CMO Council. Proven experience in driving to expected outcomes while working in highly matrixed environments will be critical.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Sponsor strategic projects on behalf of the CMO/Clinical Transformation Office, accountable for execution and delivery. This will include establishing the strategy in concert with senior leaders, partnering with other organizations to obtain the necessary resources, rallying the team to design the solution, engage key internal and external stakeholders, and ultimately deliver value to Highmark Health. This will also require defining and building out a small team to execute these initiatives.
  • Actively work with senior leaders across the enterprise to ensure alignment on the initiatives, define the implications of key initiatives, ensure the right resources and execution plans are in place to deliver, surface and help resolve concerns and issues, and communicate the status of efforts. Examples include: physician alignment, provider system clinical partnerships including CINs and ACOs, social determinants of heath initiatives, and Quality, Safety, & Value Committee coordination.
  • Active engagement across HH, AHN, and Highmark Inc. around key enterprise strategies relating to the clinical work of our evolving integrated delivery and financing (IDFS) business model. 
  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility, accountability and authority.

Education:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred

  • Master’s in Business Administration/Management

Experience:

Minimum

  • 5-7 years Management
  • 5-7 years Cross-Function Project Teams
  • 7-10 years Health Care Industry
  • 5-7 years Project Management

Preferred

  • 5-7 years Payer and/or Provider
  • 5-7 years Operational Excellence
