JOB SUMMARY

The job plays a key role in helping to accelerate the business unit strategy to align members and patients throughout the healthcare delivery system. Leads the strategy team responsible for understanding and influencing the mindset and behaviors of customers by developing personalized interventions. These efforts will be aimed at transforming the member healthcare journey leveraging population health, clinician-lead care delivery capabilities, provider partner resources, information technology (including data analytics), and community integration. Works closely under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Product & Healthcare Services with leaders from Allegheny Health Network, the Highmark Health Plan, and the parent organization including key partners in Sales, Clinical Affairs, Operations, Provider, Product, Marketing, Government Affairs, Compliance, and Legal.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Develop customer alignment strategies through human-centered design capabilities in collaboration with others leading innovation efforts across the enterprise, including both the health plan and hospital organizations.  Apply data driven methods to identify target membership with misaligned or disrupted healthcare journeys and through motivational interviewing and application of consumer behavior and population health research, identify barriers and solutions for member engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with peer department leader(s) to assess feasibility, detail the design, execute the implementation, and monitor the results for new interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with other strategy functions focused on innovation, such as Strategy Office, Value Based Reimbursement, and Strategic Provider Partnerships to bring together ideas to design member journeys that are transformative, appropriately resourced, and scalable.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 7 - 10 years in the Healthcare Industry

To Include

  • 5 - 7 years in Consulting
  • 3 - 5 years in Management

Preferred (one or more of the following)

  • 5 - 7 years in Strategic Planning
  • 5 - 7 years in Innovation
