JOB SUMMARY

This job drives/supports the development of communications strategy and leads the implementation of comprehensive, multi-stakeholder communications plans for priority initiatives and senior leadership that effectively educate, inform and galvanize internal audiences across the enterprise. Promotes the accomplishments, progress and development of the organization and strategic initiatives through timely, creative and impactful, communications strategy and execution. Assists in managing internal communications across all channels. Responsible for consulting with all levels of management to proactively identify and develop key messages and tools, and determine the appropriate media channels to deliver them.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, plan, research, write, edit and deliver vital business and job-related information using electronic media and/or paper (intranet, micro-websites, email) to inform employees about the Business Unit and enterprise strategies, policies, initiatives, direction and products.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of information distributed across all internal channels, including email, mail, intranets, newsletter and electronic bulletin boards, among others.
  • Develop communications strategy for large-scale initiatives that affect employees.
  • Consult with leaders to proactively identify strategy and develop and execute key messages, including determining communication plans, and delivery of organizational messages to employees. 
  • Assist in providing oversight, guidance, and answering questions to staff regarding communications planning and execution.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Writing, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing

Substitutions

  • 6 years of related progressive experience lieu of Bachelor's Degree

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Writing, Communications or Related Field

EXPERIENCE

Required (Any of the Following)

  • 7 - 10 years in Communications
  • 7 - 10 years in Public Relations / Agency
  • 7 - 10 years in Marketing Communications

To Include

  • Employee Communications

Preferred

This position directly support the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical and Transformation Officer, the Clinical Transformation Office and related strategic initiatives.

  • 3 - 5 years in the Healthcare Industry
  • Experience working with senior-level executives on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives
  • Experience in effectively working across organizational boundaries and in collaboration with multi-stakeholder teams on complex projects.  

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

SKILLS

  • Exceptional writing skills – with experience in executive level communications
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach, and ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Self-starter with high standards of performance, able to work in fast-paced, changing environment with a multitude of different tasks.
  • Strategic planning knowledge and implementation
  • Strong, influential management and relationship building skills.
  • Strong understanding of desktop publishing (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft products (including Excel)
  • Experience with alignment of internal and external message management
