GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Administrative Director provides vision, leadership, and administration of the hospital within the framework of Westfield to provide optimal care of patients and patient’s families.  Formulates strategic goals in line with the health systems mission, vision and values.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs, plans, and coordinates the daily operation of the hospital through the activities of the Physicians, Leadership Team, and Associates.
  • Executes strategic and operational plan for Westfield Memorial Hospital.

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with Western New York physicians and other community stakeholders.

  • Oversees the hospital’s financial structure and soundness.  Reviews operating results, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Maintains effective communications with the hospital’s leadership team and the Board of Directors, and system leadership.
  • Confers with the health system leadership to plan business objectives, develop organizational policies, coordinates functions and operations between divisions and departments.
  • Provides effective internal control for efficient management, adherence and monitoring of regulations and laws impacting health care delivery systems.
  • Promotes continuing education of physicians, patients, patient’s families, senior leadership and associates; and mentors’ others in their development in health care management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Master’s degree in health administration or business administration; plus, a minimum of five years related and progressive experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
