GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The Revenue Cycle Trainer- Associate ensures that the resources allocated to the Physician Organization Revenue Cycle team receive standardized workflow procedure training and that deviations in the established procedures are promptly mitigated.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and maintains detailed, step-by-step where indicated, training materials, both paper and electronic for the Physician Organization Revenue Cycle team. (20%)
  • Conducts initial and subsequent new employee or new-to-role training for the Physician Organization Revenue Cycle team. (20%)
  • Develops and maintains reporting that will identify deviations in standardized processes and distribute to stakeholders accordingly. (20%)
  • Maintains a working knowledge of changes to CMS/State billing guidelines or contract-specific payer guidelines to adjust training materials as required. (20%)
  • Develops manager-level audit materials that may be used to determine the level of procedural compliance by members of the Physician Organization Revenue Cycle team. (10%)
  • Prepares and conducts periodic desk-audits as requested by management. (10%)
  • Creates and fosters a positive and professional learning environment while being able to deliver a variety of training methodologies (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development etc.) to motivate trainees through training both in group and individual classroom settings to ensure maximum effectiveness of training program and materials.
  • Serves as a resource to various departments within the organization by developing positive relationships within the department, the organization and outside resources.
  • Develops training aids including training handbooks, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference documents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Three years or more of experience in a healthcare setting in medical billing, coding and collections or experience in a medical billing and coding training environment
