GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides a wide variety of secretarial, administrative and staff support services to the organizational unit.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs administrative support such as scheduling/coordinating meetings, activities, events and/or travel. (30%)
  • Performs secretarial duties to facilitate daily operations such as phone triage, filing, typing, faxing, and mail. (25%)
  • Effectively handles information, requests and questions while adhering to confidentiality guidelines. (20%)
  • Supports programs and/or processes specific to the operating unit served. (15%)
  • Serves as liaison with others, within and outside the company, regarding administrative and secretarial issues. (10%)
  • May assist in insurance and personal billing, transcribing and editing PC-based recorded or written material, and verification of patient information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years’ secretarial/administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail, and Microsoft Windows/Office applications.

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Experience in a healthcare/practice setting.
