GENERAL PURPOSE:  

The Supervisor Learning Solutions provides oversight to ensure work accuracy on all levels of operational business processes and projects, including planning and assigning tasks to Corporate Learning Delivery Team.  Forecast and monitor learning services capacity and resources with organization priorities and demands. The incumbent guides team members to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management, steering committees and project sponsors, establish and maintain customer touch points. The position provides coaching, consultation and mentoring to Corporate Learning Delivery team members to include but not limited to: instruction, guidance and verification of others work, delegation of assignments, training, monitoring and providing input to employee performance, participating in the interview process, and facilitating the attainment of department goals. The supervisor evaluates learning team member and student performance against project and delivery objectives and business results including but not limited to production and quality and overall learning effectiveness. In addition, the supervisor enhances learning effectiveness with improved learning technology, best practices, and upskilling learning team members.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan and assign Corporate Learning Delivery Team personnel, provide delivery oversight and ensure work accuracy on operational business processes as they relate to training.  To include:

  • Providing project lead instruction and direction to staff regarding solutions to meet business issues.
  • Negotiating project deliverables with client areas.
  • Managing resources through demand/capacity modeling with client areas.
  • Performing analysis for process issues crossing functional areas.
  • Researching and analyzing operational business processes or system applications.
  • Evaluating and analyzing learning effectiveness and successful delivery and performance.

2. This position has duties of instructing, directing and verifying the work of Corporate Learning Delivery staff.  These duties include:

  • Delegation of assignments
  • Guidance and training
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Identifying monitoring and providing input to employee performance
  • Participating in the interview/hiring process
  • Facilitating the attainment of department goals
  • Evaluating student performance and aligning training curriculum to ensure production and quality standards are achieved. 
  • Evaluating training delivery member’s performance in the classroom,  quality and production standards,  integration with the business processes and business team members

3. Guide Corporate Learning Delivery team members to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external vendors. 

  • Identifying and articulating problems to senior management, steering committees and/or project sponsors.  Ability to deliver written communications as well as oral presentations to large group audiences.
  • Planning, designing and conducting customer walk-throughs and train-the-trainer sessions
  • Conducting problem solving resolution and decision making sessions for releases, maintenance, quality as it relates to training
  • Interacting with vendors for understanding processes, objectives, and standards
  • Establishing and maintaining customer touch points

4. Leads, influences or negotiates others to achieve desired work results and works effectively with others to achieve common goals and exercises effective interpersonal influence. Coaches and mentors team members; writes proposals for training or non training interventions and works with all levels of management to identify needs and negotiate to fulfill those needs.

5. Other duties as assigned or requested.

III. QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Four(4 years) experience in any combination of  resource management, training project management, conducting training, or instructional design
  • Three (3) years experience in training & development
  • Two (2) years experience in claims, customer service, or health insurance related area
  • Two (2) years leadership experience
     

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Training and Development or related field (Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Multi-Media, Training Technology etc.)
  • Masters Degree in Training and Development or related field
  • Human Performance Improvement, Instructional Design, and/or Management certification
  • Three (3) – Five (5) years in a leadership role to include delegation of assignments, training, coaching and mentoring
  • Three (3) – Five (5) years  of general leadership experience
  • Three (3) – Five (5)  years experience in human performance improvement, performance consulting, training and development, instructional design, project management, organizational development and/or resource management
  • Three (3 ) – Five (5) years experience in Health Operations claims, customer service, call center or related field

This job requires the ability to work as a team member.  Additionally, this job requires the willingness and ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and may require irregular work hours, holidays and/or weekends.
