GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assesses, prepares, and provides nursing care to patients; provides ongoing care in collaboration with multiple physicians; provides and develops educational opportunities for staff and monitors outcomes.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses, develops, and administers plan of care and completes appropriate documentation.
  • Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the RN's knowledge base or scope of practice.
  • Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on individual needs.
  • Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and interdisciplinary team.
  • Coordinates administrative functions for the Program, which may include staffing coverage and/or participating in marketing activities.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of departmental and hospital performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Current PA RN Licensure
  • Program area certification and/or CEU may be required.
  • 1-3 year(s) of experience in field of specialty.

Preferred

  • BSN
