General Overview:

This job provides strategic leadership in the development of short and long-range objectives, policies, budgets and operating plans for the businesses of HM Insurance Group to assure stability, achieve growth objectives and attain Corporate goals.  Establishes the appropriate structure, supports and leads the culture and philosophy by which the organization operates, and is accountable for the management and control of the affairs and property of HM Insurance Group.  The duties include, but are not limited assisting the President in designing and implementing business strategies; setting comprehensive goals to enable optimized performance and growth; overseeing daily operations of the Company (all areas); ensuring all activities relating to work are completed according to specifications and in compliance with all legal matters;  leading and motivating employees to encourage maximum performance and engagement; as well as providing business plans to maximize growth and profit, among others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Strategic Planning Execution:  lead the implementation of financial and operational strategy, communication of strategy to leader and employees, assist in the development and lead the implementation of Company business strategies to respond to market conditions and demands, leverage relevant financial information for significant business decisions, provide input on potential growth/acquisition strategies and execute.
  • Financial Operations Oversight:  Review and approval of financial reporting, respond to all significant trends regarding product performance, financial variances and fluctuations, lead the development of the annual budget. 
  • Operations Oversight:  Lead the development and implementation of technology and process improvements to reduce administrative costs, enhance customer satisfaction and enhance capabilities to enable growth in the respective markets.
  • Continually assess operational strategies, plans and performance of the Company, consistent with goals and priorities for existing and potential customer segments and markets.  Providing an external presence and visibility to the marketplace.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10 -15 years Leadership
  • 7 - 10 years Operational Excellence
  • 7 - 10 years Strategic Planning/Corporate Development
  • 7 - 10 years Customer Service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
