Summer Internship for May-August 2019 in the United Concordia Dental (UCD) Customer Service department as an Analyst Intern. This individual is responsible for evaluating our current processes and making recommendations for improvements in efficiency affecting many areas.
Additionally, the incumbent must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to think and perform independently. Proficiency in the use of personal computer based data processing, strong written and verbal communications skills, analytical ability, and outstanding organizational skills.
This position reports to an assigned Supervisor or Manager, but is given a significant degree of independence and flexibility, provided that activities are consistent with operating budgets, approved plans and objectives, and operational policies.
Mapping of existing internal processes. This individual will review our current processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency. The intern would be responsible for documenting the current process and the modified process. This individual would facilitate conversations around ideas of improvements. A cost analysis would also be required.
Analyze current call center inquiry trends. The incumbent would pull data regarding our current inquiry trends. Analyze the data to look for ways to reduce the common inquiry types.
All primary responsibilities listed above - Recommend corrective measures to the Supervisor or Manager, Dental Customer Service. By observing trends, documenting concerns, and analyzing opportunities, the incumbent provides Concordia customer service management with valuable insight into issues or opportunities specific to assigned account/s. This includes making recommendations relative to system enhancements, procedure changes, claims processing, membership and billing issues, etc.
