GENERAL OVERVIEW:

In collaboration with the Director of Care Management, facilitates and coordinates the provision of clinical social work/pastoral care services provided to patients and families.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct supervision of professional social work practice/pastoral care services. Clinical coordination of social work services to patients and families. (20%)
  • Develops and maintains professional social work standards and requirements both in the departments and within the hospital committees. (10%)
  • Provides professional social work services to patients and families in the acute healthcare setting. (50%)
  • Supervises staff, evaluates work, and recommends and implements approved disciplinary action. (10%)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from school of Social Work
  • LSW or LSW eligible in State of Pennsylvania
  • Five years’ experience in social work in an acute healthcare setting

Preferred

  • LCSW
  • Supervisory experience
