JOB SUMMARY

This leader is accountable for the strategic planning for the Product and Healthcare Services (PHS) operations roadmap.  This crossfunctional team will partner with business owners to build a strategic plan that accounts for process and technology efficiencies.  To do this, they will lead a team of Lean Six-Sigma experts, Agile coaches, and strategy consultants.  They will work with partners across the operations function including Workforce, Program and Change Management, and the systems team as well as with matrix partners in Advanced Analytics, HMHS, Finance, etc. to build and drive the strategic agenda.  This leader provides oversight and guidance for the portfolio of programs and projects that are designed to improve operational deficiencies including owning and driving the PHS thinkUP agenda . The VP designs, implements and executes strategies and works with cross-functional clinical, pharmaceutical, operations, IT and performance management improvement teams to ensure overall goals of the organization are met and to optimize outcomes. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Provides direct coaching to the executive leadership team within the organization on agile and operational effectiveness. This person would attend leadership meetings throughout the organization to present progress, influence direction, and obtain strategic direction.
  • Partners with all levels of management to assemble project teams and work groups to produce deliverables required to achieve the objectives of a defined project/program.  This includes but is not limited to working with leaders to understand competitive landscape, market dynamics and HMHS solutioning opportunities.  Works closely with Project Management and Change Office, HMHS, Advanced Analytics, and business owners to drive strategic and innovative operational deliverables.
  • Integrate a management model to deliver on an integrated Operational Excellence department.  Develop the roadmap and priorities, define the business engagement model, and execute and deliver all identified operational improvement driven initiatives 
  • Leads efforts to perform analysis of enterprise-wide practices to identify opportunities for improvement.   Access current processes and implement performance improvement programs. Manage key operational initiatives through a disciplined, customer focused, program management approach; identify and resolve project and program issues. Deliver on the core principles using Six Sigma and Agile delivery principles.  In addition, build and manage governance model to evaluate new business / technology capabilities and needs. 
  • Assume ownership role for thinkUP RPA led activities and organiational alignment and priority within PHS.  Building an innovative pipeline that goes beyond normal RPA activities. 
  • Partner with PHS organiazational leaders to develop and maintain a strategic innovative business led service strategy, and integration to the operational excellence long-term roadmap.  As well as partner wtih various stakeholders to ensure business strategy aligns and is integrated to the technology strategic agenda.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree

Substitutions

  • 6 years of experience in an operational excellence role.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management or Clinical Programs

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 10 years Project Management

To Include

  • 7 years Lean/Six Sigma or other related disciplines
  • 5 years Healthcare Industry
  • 5 years Leadership
