Allegheny Health Network’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital seeks an experienced, board certified/eligible pulmonologist to establish and lead its interventional pulmonology program as part of a dynamic and growing practice network within Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. The successful applicant will also lead the Allegheny Health Network Early Detection of Lung Cancer Program, as well as serve as Co-Director of the Esophageal and Lung Institute. Qualified candidates must have training, clinical expertise and a research portfolio focused on interventional pulmonology and lung cancer; and be eligible to receive a Pennsylvania medical license and unrestricted DEA certificate.
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital maintains a 28-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, a busy inpatient and outpatient consultation service, and collaborates actively with the Department of Thoracic Surgery and other disciplines involved in the multidisciplinary care of patients with a wide spectrum of thoracic diseases. It also has an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

The team utilizes the latest breakthrough treatments, performs minimally invasive surgeries done at only a handful of medical centers around the country, and conducts a full spectrum of research initiatives including basic science, translational, and clinical trials to develop a greater understanding of disease progression, prevention, and possible treatments. Through various internal and industry sponsored clinical trials, patients are provided with opportunities to enroll in the newest and most promising approaches to treatment, and, with two tissue banking efforts underway, we are also laying the groundwork for future discovery.
