The role of Senior Accountant within the Financial Accounting and Reporting department at Highmark Health primarily supports the preparation of monthly corporate-level financial statements as well as annual audited financial statements and footnote disclosures. In performing this function, team members will be responsible for such tasks as consolidation of legal entity financials within Hyperion-based consolidation tool, preparation of cash flow statements, balance sheet line item and general ledger account fluctuation analysis, general ledger account reconciliation within Blackline, review and elimination of intercompany activities, preparation of journal entries within Peoplesoft general ledger software, and preparation of footnote disclosures within audited financial statements.
1. Applies accounting techniques and standard practices to the classification and recording of financial transactions.
2. Prepares financial and business-related analysis.
3. Classifies, examines, and analyzes accounting records and prepares related financial reports and statements.
4. May serve on or lead project teams for special projects.
5. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
6. Other duties as assigned or requested.
