JOB SUMMARY


This job executes the operational aspects of the wellness programs.  Provides meaningful, strategic consultation to internal stakeholders to assist them in development and implementation of effective client/member wellness initiatives to optimize the engagement of members and therefore prevent adverse risk migration.  The incumbent collaborates closely with internal business partners to administer health promotion initiatives/programs to the customer audiences through effective project management, collaboration and application of best practices and engagement.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with internal partners to create and execute wellness strategies that increase client/member engagement or enrollment in programs and initiatives. Facilitate operational aspects of wellness programming such as reward program design/set up, etc.
  • Educate, consult and provide training to internal stakeholders on resources, content, processes, timelines and program components.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to demonstrate and share best practices and client successes.  Proactively reach out for and utilize services across the enterprise to deliver and ensure a positive, differentiated customer experience.
  • Provide standardized communication materials and implementation support for wellness initiatives. Responsible for content creation, identification of customer needs, development and effective utilization of wellness campaigns and resources designed to maximize member engagement and prevent adverse risk migration.
  • Utilize data, trends and best practices to recommend specific client focused solutions or interventions to achieve outcomes.
  • Lead special projects, workgroups and initiatives as needed to enhance wellness offerings and streamline business processes.
  • May advise and provide recommendation on all health and wellness related resources and products to educate sales and internal stakeholders in order to effectively engage and help customers’ achieve measurable health and wellness objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, a Clinical or Health Related Field such as Exercise, Nutrition, Nursing, or Public Health Management

SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Prior experience with wellness or other benefits program design and implementation

  • None

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in clinical, health or work-site health promotion setting including program planning, development, implementation and evaluation

Preferred

  • 1 - 3 years of experience within health insurance industry and understanding of health insurance products

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required

  • None

Preferred

  • Clinical Certification (e.g. Registered Dietitian)/Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S.)

SKILLS

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed and complex management structure
  • Experience in health insurance field working with health plans
  • Written and oral communication, analytical and inter-personal skills
  • Problem solving skills
