This job is a senior level role that works in direct support of the President of Highmark Health Plan and it's Diversified Businesses, United Concordia Dental and HMIG. The primary focus of this role is to assist the President in executing business and operational strategies throughout the Health Plan and Diversified Businesses through effective communications with other executives and team members, diligent  program management, and the research and tracking of key initiatives. The incumbent has a high level of visibility with the executive leadership team and will have access to highly confidential business and operational strategy for the organization. The incumbent plans and directs administrative and strategic initiatives for the President of the Health Plan. Develops and maintains relationships with other executives and management staff to promote corporate objectives. Works to implement the President's agenda by serving as lead project manager for initiatives and tasks advancing the strategies of Highmark Health Plan, UCD and HMIG. This is a highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active behind the scenes role.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority
  • Provide support to the President of Highmark Health Plan and Diversified Businesses by driving special projects related to the business strategies of the Health Plan, United Concordia and HMIG. Requires a significant amount of influence with key executive leaders both within the organization, as well as Enterprise-wide. Translate strategy into operational reality.  Break down strategies or business initiatives into key tasks and identify accountabilities. Plan and execute projects on behalf of the President
  • Drive initiatives sponsored by President of the Health Plan. This requires a significant amount of coordination with internal and external stakeholders, representing the President/Health Plan. Develop and communicate key components of project objectives and recommendations across the organization
  • Manage operations for the Health Plan and Diversified Businesses teams. Optimize time management of the President in and outside the office, in partnership with the Executive Admin Assistant. Author executive communication on behalf of the President, working with external and internal resources. Develop relationships, manage expectations and communicate with senior executives and managers both throughout the organization as well as with external stakeholders. Manage the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership and executive meetings. Compile reports, ad-hoc presentations, briefings, and communications for internal and external stakeholders. Plan and execute leadership events such as offsite and leadership team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management

PREFERRED EDUCATION

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5 - 7 years in Management

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5 - 7 years in the Healthcare Industry
