JOB SUMMARY

This job leads discussions with the customer and delivers budgeted trend and cost of care expense and the desired quality of care outcomes. The incumbent develops and executes the strategic plan for their accounts.  Manages the administrative costs associated with their customer portfolio as well as the overall P&L and contract compliance.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain strategic partnerships with customers through the development & implementation of strategic business plans that result in long term retention of profitable relationships.
  • Develop strong relationship with the customer and owns the overall account satisfaction for a portfolio of customers.  
  • Deliver results for cost of care, quality metrics and administrative costs that meet or beat planned outcomes and demonstrates the value of implemented pharmacy solutions.
  • Provide clinical operations input and support of client specific claims processing programs, coordinate implementations of clinical programs and provide support to client specific pharmacy and therapeutics functions, DUR committees and responsibilities.
  • Ensure cost of care and administrative expenses are managed and targets achieved for the assigned accounts and for contract performance through risk management activities including such items as service level agreement (SLA) performance and all aspects of contract compliance.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and followed.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Active pharmacist license in the state of Arkansas
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in managed care pharmacy, including AMCP-ASHP accredited residency in managed care pharmacy
  • 2 years of clinical account management experience in Medicaid as part of the 3-5 year managed care experience
  • 2 years of experience analyzing pharmaceutical cost of care data    •

  • Masters of Pharmacy or Masters of Business Administration
  • Experience leading or participating in Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee

  • Mix of clinical expertise combined with business acumen
  • Demonstrated competency in identifying and communicating clinical solutions
  • Ability to think strategically, act urgently and execute flawlessly
  • Ability to establish strong, positive customer relationships
  • Problem Solving – ability to encourage others in collaborative problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines and multiple customers
  • Familiarity with pharmacy benefit management processes or organizations. 
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to work across different organizations and personalities
