Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
Supports the sourcing function to ensure proper procurement of supplies, equipment and services to support the daily operations of the organization. As required, reviews special purchase requests for accuracy, completeness, transmittal to vendor community; confirms orders, communicates status with stakeholders, and supports supply shortage resolution. Supports contract term resolution, ensures compliance with the negotiated terms, and supports the integrity of the materials management information system. Negotiate local contracts, facilitate contract renewals, and conduct RFP’s as required to support organizational goals and objectives. Provides daily client customer service in support of the sourcing and procurement functions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Conduct RFQ and RFI processes with the direction of a Category or Contract Manager. Conduct applicable RFPs to create a local or GPO contract with the consent and support of a Category or Contract Manager.
2.Facilitate and lead consignment projects in support of the Sourcing and Procurement processes. Utilize appropriate consignment templates to complete a vendor consignment program within client’s internal policies and procedures.
3.Negotiate local contracts, contract renewals, and negotiate pricing as required to support organizational goals and objectives.
4.Assist with contract implementations (Load item files, cover sheets, communications with stakeholders for program rollouts, etc.)
5.As required, review, evaluate and process purchase orders efficiently and effectively in accordance with departmental contracts and standards and resolve price discrepancies to support procurement and sourcing efforts.
6.Document appropriate line/purchase order notes and provide routine and consistent communication of order status on a regular basis; substitute product information support, analyze root causes, and develop/implement recommended long term solutions in support of overall sourcing and procurement functions.
