JOB SUMMARY

This job is responsible for the oversight of the enterprise's email marketing automation platform(s), as well as the overall email and messaging delivery schedule for a variety of communications and marketing campaigns. The incumbent acts as a subject matter expert on  marketing automation technology, working with both internal development teams and vendors to deliver a seamless and reliable experience across managed channels. The incumbent also manages email campaigns end-to-end, working with other internal groups to maintain list integrity and to meet all regulatory and legal requirements. Helps develop email campaign ROIs as well as best practice and metrics around deliverability, engagement, and effectiveness. Acting as the subject matter expert, the incumbent is responsible for understanding of current legal and regulatory practices, as well as an understand of the technology and how it interacts with various other digital technologies within the marketing technology stack. Subject matter expertise includes, but is not limited to, landing pages, micro-sites, web properties, CRM, analytics platforms, Business Intelligence platforms, etc. Also collaborates with management and helps set and oversee the technology roadmap for content delivery via email. Will work directly with digital production, development teams, digital strategy, marketing strategy, business lines, and other groups inside and outside of marketing. Also works directly with email production on the day-to-day running of campaigns and content delivery.

ESSSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of the email/SMS platform and platform strategy with the department manager as well as technical and development teams across the enterprise. Proficient understanding of marketing automation platforms and best practices required. 
  • Provide email and SMS campaign ROI calculations tied to business objectives and overall marketing and digital strategy. This will include managing integration of data analytics in various reporting packages. 
  • Advocate for the adoption of digital tools for internal clients, including the development of templates and content governance rules as well as user privileges and management across platforms. 
  • Develop and oversee a roadmap for email/SMS platform and related technologies including future state marketing automations and delivery mechanisms (email, SMS, mobile, landing pages, etc.)
  • Work with internal teams to develop templates, best practices, and provide legal and regulatory compliance for users and marketing strategy, including the development and deployment of business rules, HTML/CSS templates, and user management and reporting. 
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, or Business Communications

Substitutions

  • 6 years related and progressive experience in lieu of a Bachelor degree

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing

EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 5 - 7 years Communications

To Include

  • 3 - 5 years Marketing

Preferred

  • 5 - 7 years Digital Marketing or Digital Communications
  • Knowledge of personalization and segmentation, general email marketing platform knowledge
  • Experience with more than one email platform
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS, email display testing (Litmus or Email on Acid), and responsive emails
